This class is recommended before taking our project classes if you want to learn about the different paints, mediums and how to mix them properly for successful paint pouring. This is the only class where we get in to how to mix the paints. In our project classes the paints are premixed for you for the project class at hand.
In this class you will paint a 'Dirty Pour' 8x10 canvas panel and learn how to make a paint skin that you can use to make beautiful jewelry, magnets or craft projects. All supplies and equipment needed during this class is provided.
Our Project Classes Teach: Dutch Pour, Swipe, Bloom, Transfer, Chain Pull, String Pull, Ring Pour, Puddle Pour, Flip Cup, Balloon Kiss, Bottle Bottom Pour, Canvas Dip, Reverse Canvas Dip.
This class focuses on materials used, how to mix paints and mediums, how to create the 'dirty pour' method and how to facilitate cell development. You will learn...
• The difference between heavy body paints, soft body paints, and pour-ready paints.
• How to mix acrylic paints for pouring (Thick, medium & thin viscosity) and how to do the drip test.
• This class uses 'Floetrol' as a mixing medium, however we will discuss other medium options available for acrylic paint pouring.

We use water-based acrylic paints which can be washed off skin with soap and water. Please wear clothing and shoes suitable for painting. We offer disposable aprons, shoe covers, gloves, hair ties and shower caps for your hair. If you have long hair you will want to put it up in a bun or ponytail to avoid getting paint in your hair.
